Billing & Subscriptions

How do I start a free trial?

Open MagicDay and tap Settings → Unlock MagicDay Premium. Choose the Annual plan to start your 3-day free trial. You'll only be charged if you stay past the trial window — cancel any time before then and you won't pay a thing.

The free trial is available once per Apple ID. Lifetime is a one-time purchase and doesn't include a trial (there's nothing to trial — it's yours forever).

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. To cancel:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone
  2. Tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions
  3. Tap MagicDay
  4. Tap Cancel Subscription

You'll keep access until the end of your current billing period. We never auto-renew after you cancel.

How do I restore my purchases on a new device?

Sign into the new device with the same Apple ID you used to buy MagicDay, then:

  1. Open MagicDay
  2. Go to Settings → Unlock MagicDay Premium
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Restore Purchases

Your Lifetime / Annual / Disneyland purchases will reactivate immediately. If it doesn't work, email us and we'll sort it out.

Can I get a refund?

All App Store purchases are refunded by Apple directly. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com within 90 days of purchase.

If Apple declines and you feel strongly the app didn't deliver, email us and we'll see what we can do.

What's the difference between Lifetime and Annual?

Annual ($19.99/year) — includes a 3-day free trial. Renews each year. Cancel any time. Best if you want to try MagicDay before committing.

Lifetime ($39.99 one-time) — pay once, yours forever. Pays for itself in 2 years. Best if you're confident you'll use MagicDay for multiple trips.

Both unlock the same features. The Disneyland add-on is a separate one-time unlock.

Using the App

Wait times look wrong or out of date

Wait times are sourced from a live aggregator and refresh every few minutes. A few reasons times might look off:

  • You're offline. Check for the "Last updated X min ago" label — the app will show cached data when there's no connection.
  • Posted vs actual. The posted time is what Disney's signs say. The actual time is our estimate of how long you'll really wait — they often differ.
  • Park just opened. Times at rope drop are volatile for the first 30 minutes and settle down afterwards.

If a specific ride is consistently showing a wait time that looks wrong, email us with the park + ride name and we'll investigate.

How do I unlock Disneyland?

MagicDay ships with Walt Disney World support. The Disneyland add-on is a separate one-time unlock that adds Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.

To unlock: Settings → Destination → Switch to Disneyland. You'll be prompted to purchase the add-on. It's a non-subscription, one-time unlock — no recurring charge.

Notifications aren't arriving

Check that notifications are enabled:

  1. iPhone Settings → MagicDay → Notifications
  2. Make sure Allow Notifications is on
  3. Turn on Time Sensitive for dining and Lightning Lane alerts

Dining and Lightning Lane watches only fire when availability is detected by our backend. If nothing has become available yet, you won't get a notification — which is the correct behaviour.

The route planner isn't suggesting good orders

The optimiser weighs live wait times against walking distance. A few tips:

  • Add at least 3–4 rides before tapping Optimise My Day — the fewer rides, the less there is to optimise.
  • The optimiser picks the best order, not which rides to pick. If a ride has a 90-minute wait all day, it'll still get scheduled if it's on your list.
  • If you want a ride earlier, drag it manually — your choices are respected on the next re-optimise.
Does MagicDay work offline?

Yes. Park maps, attraction details, resort information, and your route are cached on first load. When you're offline:

  • You'll see the last wait times with a "Last updated X min ago" label
  • Your route is fully editable
  • Resort maps show a cached satellite snapshot

Wait time updates, weather, and dining/LL watch alerts all require a connection.

Account & Privacy

How do I delete my data?

Most of your data lives on your device. To clear it: iPhone Settings → General → iPhone Storage → MagicDay → Delete App. Everything stored locally is removed.

For any data held on our servers (push notification tokens, dining/LL watch subscriptions), email hello@magicday.today from the address linked to your account and we'll delete it within 30 days as required by GDPR/CCPA.

Read our full Privacy Policy.

Does MagicDay track me or sell my data?

No. We don't sell your data, show adverts, or use third-party advertising trackers. We use Apple's privacy-preserving analytics to understand which features are popular — you can turn this off at any time in iPhone Settings → Privacy → Analytics & Improvements.

Full details in our Privacy Policy.

Is MagicDay affiliated with Disney?

No. MagicDay is an independent companion app. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Walt Disney Company. Walt Disney World®, Disneyland®, and related marks are registered trademarks of Disney Enterprises, Inc.

What devices and iOS versions are supported?

MagicDay supports iPhone running iOS 17 or later. Some features (Dynamic Island Live Activity for route progress) require iPhone 14 Pro or newer.

An Apple Watch companion and Android version are planned for a future release.

Still stuck?

Email hello@magicday.today with as much detail as you can — what happened, what you expected, your iPhone model, and iOS version. Screenshots and screen recordings help enormously.
